Our Goals
North Carolina Peace Action is a state affiliate of
Peace Action, the nations largest grass-roots peace organization with
over 80000 members and 27 chapters. The goals of Peace Action are to:
- Abolish Nuclear Weapons and other weapons of mass
destruction.
- Halt the sale of conventional weapons by the US government
and corporations to nations which abuse the human rights of their
citizens.
(The US is the world's largest arms dealer)
- Reduce military spending and increase spending for
human and community needs- healthcare, housing, education, environmental
protection, public transportation, and community economic development.
- Solve international conflict through diplomacy not
war.
